Binaural Beat: Canon In D

  1. Binaural beat can be generated with two tones at different frequencies, played at each side of your ear. A third frequency (binaural beat) will be created, which is the difference between the two set frequencies.
  2. Binaural beat is claimed to be able to influence our mind and our consciousness.
  3. There have been a number of claims regarding binaural beats, among them that binaural beats may help people stop smoking, improve their memory and learning ability.
  4. I have embedded the binaural beat into my music. I’m using 4 Hz binaural beat frequency. Check out my track and see you feel anything. If not, at least, you get to enjoy my Canon In D arrangement.

Below is a list of well known frequencies and the mind states they are known to produce.
  • Over 40 Hz - Gamma waves that are typically associated with problem solving, perception, higher mental activity as well as fear and consciousness.
  • 13 – 40 Hz - Beta waves that are mostly associated with active concentration, active or anxious thinking, arousal and cognition.
  • 7 – 13 Hz - Alpha waves that are associated with relaxation and drowsiness.
  • 4 – 7 Hz - Theta waves that are usually associated with dreams, REM sleep, deep meditation and healing.
  • Less than 4 Hz - Delta waves that are associated with deep dreamless sleep and loss of body awareness.

Your Story Matters!

  1. Hi Everyone! I'm sooo sorry for my lack of updates. I have been busy working on a campaign.
  2. www.121adventure.com Check it out!
  3. Here, everyone can tell their story or check out what the others are doing.
  4. This is how the campaign works. There are 16 pandas going around town now. And if you are holding one of the panda, you can tell your experience or story with the panda. Then you pass it to someone else.
  5. Why you wanna do it? Simply because you win great prizes and if the panda you have wins the race, you will get great stuff! :D
  6. I might want to write a theme song or music for this adventure. Meanwhile, come to my panda Sun's page to support me

Walk Of Life (Original)

  1. This track is a little bit different from what I usually do.
  2. I have mixed a bit of Asian element and electronic drum beat in this composition. The Chinese instrument you hear is sheng which is commonly used in China.
  3. I used a lot of pad and effect to create a more relaxing mood even though heavy drum was used.
  4. Walk Of Life by saikhuan
  5. I am using SoundCloud to share my music at this post. You can actually comment at any point of the track. It's fun. Try it.

Sape - Datun Julud (Original)

  1. Sape is a traditional instrument played by Orang Ulu from Malaysia. This instrument is usually played at festivals or celebrations.

  2. It is similar to a modern guitar and has two to four strings.
  3. Music written for Sape often use Pentatonic scale. eg. C key would use only notes C D E G A
  4. Tonic chord is usually played on first beat of almost every bar.

  5. From my music arrangement you just heard is one of Orang Ulu's traditional folk song called Datun Julud.
  6. The main melody is all played on F chord and on F pentatonic scale. That's F G A C D
  7. I use heavy string instruments and a couple of percussion instruments to accompany the arrangement.
  8. Will be posting new songs here soon. Come back often to check for new updates.

Por Una Cabeza (Review)

  1. Por Una Cabeza was first performed by Carlos Gardel.

  2. This tango was played in numerous movies, Schindler's List, True Lies, Scent of Woman and a few more.
  3. This song was first performed in 1935 by Carlos Gardel but was then arranged for many other performances until today.
  4. "Por una cabeza" means "by a head" in Spanish, was composed about horse addiction by comparing it to women.
  5. Por Una Cabeza has very obvious tango rhythm which is a syncopated ballroom dance music in 2/4 or 4/4 time. This is a typical tango rhtyhm,

One (Original)

  1. I wrote this track some time back and used it as my demo to bid for projects.
  2. This track is heavily influenced by Hans Zimmer who has composed music for many movies, Lion King, The Rock, Crimson Tide, Da Vinci Code etc.

  3. Mix of orchestra and synthesizer. Live guitar recording towards the end of the track.
  4. A lot of orchestra percussion such as cymbals, timpani and side drums were used.
  5. I will be attending the Kuching Rainforest World Music Festival this weekend and quite excited about it.
  6. This musical event brings all renowned world musicians together on stage. Stalls will also be set up to sell food, drinks, crafts, percussions and music CDs.

Mizz Nina – What You Are Waiting For (Review)

  1. I really like Mizz Nina’s new song, What You Are Waiting For. The song features Colby O’Donis and she is from Malaysia.

  2. The whole song is composed with just four chords
    E - B - C#m - A
  3. Heavy use of auto-tune. I’m not sure if she can sing because I think auto-tune is over used in this song.
  4. Used a lot of synth loop as well throughout the whole song and kinda reminds me of Black Eyed Peas’ I Gotta Feeling. Similar drum track too.
  5. I have a feeling that she can't sing this song live, so she probably would have to lip sync during live performance.
  6. Quite a heated discussion going on at the YouTube page on the quality of the video. I don’t know what’s the big deal about her dress or the torch light.
  7. What matter is the song and I think it's great! The tune kinda get stuck in your head for a while.

The Achievers

  1. Please click on the Facebook Like link on the top right of this page to support me :) I promise I will post as often as possible.
  2. This is something I wrote for a TV3 program, The Achievers, which was aired about 5 years back.

  3. Simple chord progression, Am - G - F - G throughout the whole piece.
  4. It is amazing what you can do with just simple chords.
  5. Just by adding 7th note or 9th to your chords would bring a whole new tone to your chord progression.
  6. If I were to re-write those chords, I would most likely have played,
    Am7 - Em7/G - Fmaj7 - Gadd9
  7. Then just improvise freely, and your melody would somehow fit perfectly. That was exactly what I did with this track.

Hello Music

  1. I am going to revive something I have done long time ago but did not have the time to do it.
  2. I am going to use this blog to talk about anything relating to music. From song reviews to my own music.
  3. This blog will be short and brief because I know there are too many blogs out there to follow and there is no reason why I should make you read long essays.
  4. For a start, I have composed something last weekend and would like to share it with you.

  5. It is a short piano piece with string instruments, violin and cello.
  6. Blast it out loud so you can hear the different layer of strings and the dynamics of the instruments.
  7. Simple song form with few basic chords.
  8. Let me know if you want the piano score.
  9. Also, recently I am learning dizi, a Chinese flute with mellow and expressive tone. It’s a difficult instrument especially if you want to play different octaves of notes.
